Gyumri’s “Lentex” factory hosted an expert of textile production from Italy

Marianna, originally from Gyumri, Shirak region, moved to Italy long time ago and started her professional career in the field of textile production for various prominent Italian companies.

After a long break she visited her hometown not only for personal reasons - visiting her family - but also for professional ones - supporting her hometown and the local community. She accepted the offer to become part of two-day interactive workshop sessions within the Together4Armenia initiative and to share her knowledge and skills with the staff of the “Lentex” textile production factory based in Gyumri.

On 14 September 2016, Marianna Petrosyan arrived in Gyumri. Prior to the consultation session she took a short trip all over the factory, examined the raw materials and the production process. She talked about synthetic fiber production and shared the best practices of Italian textile production factories. She consulted the production manager and other employees of the factory on how to produce raw materials of better quality, and how to properly use these materials to obtain high-quality and inexpensive textile goods.

The most gratifying fact about this Diaspora-local community cooperation story is that Marianna keeps on consulting the staff of “Lentex” factory online through sharing her skills and the new trends in the field.
